'ART CAN SHOW US THE BEAUTY OF OUR SOUL '........ These works of art are a good investment for the purchase if what you are looking for ... These are the works of art that lead to an expression that has matured and evolved today, ...... Beyond feeding our soul with its vibrations of color ... 'A painting has the true power to show us something that no advanced camera is capable of capturing yet ... In front of a limited material reality ... that we can capture within ourselves ', ... JJ 'YOUR PAINTS HAVE SOUL' ..... in the words of my first collector and great friend Sherrie Atkinson of Australia ... Born in 1971. From a beautiful land full of mysticism and spirituality, traditions and color, but especially warm, wonderful people, of Oaxacan descent, the Mazatec mountains, the land of the sacred plants of María Sabina, I emigrate with my family of a girl in Mexico City, ... Architect, ... after graduating and practicing for a few years, he returns to me, a Last Vocation for Painting, learning different Techniques mainly Watercolor and Acrylic, self-taught and with strong influences Patricia Guzmán, teacher and great friend, I began to develop different series of Mexican iconography on amate bark paper, and then personalized portraits and traditional equestrian works in watercolor, where over the years; the way of interpreting the different themes, and the reason why I painted them, ... go ... ... Necessarily ... Change, ... Evolve, ... Open, capture different Attributes or Intangible Essences or Unconquerable, ... where also ... epiphanies , and the Revelations derived from the strong life experiences that attend to the Mystic Traditions of their earth in the cosmogony, are necessarily reflected in the Works. I have participated in 3 collective exhibitions and dozens of collectives in Mexico and Europe mainly, as a member of the Mexican Society of Watercolor Painters since 2012 I won the First Prize Tlacuilo Trophy of the National Watercolor Museum in Mexico City in 2015, I am also a member of the International Watercolor Society Mexico. 1971, showing since always outstanding qualities in drawing, later studied architecture, always excelling in the media of graphic expression. Self-taught in other media such as oil, pastel and acrylics, and like many other architects, as a late vocation, back in my a deep need to express visually outside the architectural context, but ...freely, a passion, ...an overwhelming need to capture and translate light and colors through my painting. Member of National Watercolor Society
The work done in Amate Bark Paper is essentially iconic and figurative, on the cultural symbols of my environment. The support chosen for this series also contributes to conceptualize, from the Nahuatl "amatl tree leaf" prepared with the ancient technique used in pre-hispanic codices, using the media, mainly acrylic and mixed with special attention to enhance the texture of the paper.
My artwork is beginning to be part of private collections in the United States, Mexico, Australia, Canada,
and recently and Belgium.
